School Sponsorships
As of 2005, most children can attend a government school at no tuition charge; however, they are responsible for purchasing many supplies and there are additional administrative costs involved.

As a reward for coming to school, they received colorful visors that said "my first day of school" and a special snack.

Sovereign Global Mission sponsored 50 children for the 2005-2006 school year.
The cost to sponsor one child attending a government school for one year is: $150

What is needed:

School uniform:                        $12
School shoes:                            $6
Books and stationaries:             $30
Feeding fee:                               $64
Exam costs & copying fees:       $8
Miscellaneous:                           $8
Administrative costs:                 $20

• Every child is required to wear a school uniform each day.
• Books are not provided by the schools. Children are responsible for purchasing their own textbooks, notebooks, papers, pencils, etc. This is a one time expense purchased at the beginning of each school year.
• Children are required to wear closed toed shoes as part of their uniform.
• Children sponsored through this program are provided with a nutritious meal each school day. SGM has discovered that supplying a feeding program increases school attendance and may be the sole dependable meal for many children. Good nutrition is vital to a child’s learning ability.
• Students are expected to pay for the copying costs of exams. They literally have to pay fees to take any test in school.
• Miscellaneous costs cover any basic medical needs of the child and any additional expenses the child may incur over the school year.
• Administrative costs include monitoring, reporting, and follow up of the child to be conducted by Sovereign Global Mission’s Field Director each school term.
